Every girl has a troop of girls that she adores, and relies on. They all have their strengths and weaknesses and different personalities that set your gang apart from the world. Your gang is sugar, spice, and everything nice, and you appreciate them for the wonderful things they do for you in your life. Your squad is the recipe for the ultimate friendship goals, that all other people envy. They all have their differences but that just makes your girl gang perfect, because of the variety of contributions brought forward by its members. Following are four types of member that I am certain that every group has, and can relate to. The Bad Company We all sat in a circle and watched carefully as Adeeba recited instructions and folded a tiny piece of paper like origami, So thats your rectangle, and then you fold it along the length to form a cylinder. With excitement in our eyes, she now holds up the intricately designed piece of geometric shape, That my sisters, is your roach! Is it 04:20 now? Every girl gang has a bad influence, that pulls all the gang towards decadent and nefarious odds and ends. Shes the extrovert whos always pushing the groups to the limits, introducing the nastiest ideas, but shes also the one who brings life to the group, creating the most fun and memorable-although, not always memorable-nights. Shes a bad advisor, and shes persuasive too, the perfect blueprint of a demon. For instance, I was on my way to school, when Ankita bumped into me and said, Lets skip school today, and go to that really cool club that just opened. Everyones been talking about it. I cant, I declared, I have important physics class and hes explaining everything that will be on the test next Monday. And we can go day after tomorrow, we have a day off from school. And then the devil spikes up her horns and says, Babe, youre way too smart. You can just read up the book and youll be fine. But boys from college are going to be there today, and Ive already told them were coming. Itll be rude not to show up, now hop in, we have P.E. today anyway. And I ended up failing my physics test. This friend can be a handful, and sometimes risky to spend the night with, but without her, your life will be a bore. The Mom Even though the ill wind may drive you over the edge, someone has to keep everyone in line. Thats when the squad mom comes into action. She is strict, often even scolds us for doing something bad, or wrong. Once long ago, the whole squad was sitting out in the school field during lunch, and Ankita said something mildly foul about a teacher. We all started laughing and giggling, until we looked up at Reshika. Her face was red, she was mad, and then she started screaming at Ankita, for using cheap language and even more, disrespecting a teacher. She went on five minutes without a break to make her feel bad, while we watched clueless of what to say, because she was so angry. At the end, she asked Ankita to apologize, and Ankita did, by saying, Gee, fine. Sorry, mom. And from that day on, Resh was known as the mom of the group, in front of whom we all feared to say or do anything mischievous. Theres also another one, Suneha, whos always poking her nose into everyones business. Once I started dating someone who was not preferably a good person. She was on my tail for weeks, constantly pointing out flaws in that person and telling me that I deserved so much better. She used to get annoyed whenever I used to bring his name up. After a month of torment, I eventually ended that relationship, as evidence brought forth after extensive research by Suneha made be believe that he really was a wicked person, and I was saved from entering a dark and dangerous pit. This type of friend might look like a pain in the butt, but shes a darling. Shes not always sore, she provides the group with unconditional love, guidance, and praise. She constantly looks out for and puts the needs of other squad members before her own, just like any biological mom. You love her no matter what because you know she only wants the best for you. The 3 am Friend I stared into the darkness on a sleepless night, reflecting on every bad decision I have made, every better opportunity I have missed, when she rings up my phone. Its Sheh, my 3 am friend. She just knows that Im not okay. I pick up the phone, and she says, Go on, tell me whats wrong? I whimper, I just lost 5 followers on instagram. There is always one go-to-girl, who is a supporter, an advisor, and an insomniac. She will make you feel better, and be there to help you on every step of your life, big or small. She is your very own therapist, who you can confide in with your deepest secrets that come to light amid dark nights. She is an optimist with all these theories, that will give you a positive outlook at your life, and give you hope for the future. She is always there to listen and wrap you around like a blanket, and put your thoughts to rest. You need her like a weekly appointment with your private therapist, to vent out and soothe yourself to sleep. There was another time, a sister-like friend helped me out when everything in my life had plummeted to the ground. I sat on the roof of my house in the dead of the night, and told her how everything in my life has just gone wrong. She asked me, Is this rock bottom for you? I said yes. She asked me again, So that means you cant go any lower in your life now? I said yes, again, a little annoyed. Then she said, If you cant go lower anymore, and this is the worst that could ever happen to you, that means anything that will happen to you now will be better, because it just cannot get any worse. It hit me a second later, and when it did, I was baffled. This was the most motivating piece of information anyone had ever shared with me. And Im not the kind of person to get motivated easily, but she sparked a ray of hope in me. Today, I know that even if I do hit rock bottom like that again, I can pick myself up, because shes just a phone call away. The Freeloader Can I borrow your mascara, I dont know where mine is?, Can I borrow your jacket, its cold., Can I take your boyfriend, Im single on Valentines., she asks making that puppy dog face, and my heart just melts. Riya has always been a baby-shes whiny, needy, and irritating. Shes like a sticky toffee that sticks to your teeth and wont leave. She means no harm, but she just ends up wanting to password-protect everything I have. Theres also Tanya. Shes a mess, with her uncompleted school assignments that I have to help her wind up at the end, and whenever the gang decides to go anywhere and do something expensive, we have to make sure we contribute enough money for her because she never seems to have any. Shes a sweet, innocent lamb who is just lost in life, but loves her friends more than anything else in the world, and honestly we dont mind helping her out. You might think why do people even have friends like this, but do you know the best thing about these friends? They can take a bullet for you, and even in spite of all the quarrels they will always be there for you when you need them, and make you feel special. You might dislike them at times, but you love them to the core and cant cut them from your life. And some fine day, when youre least expecting it, they will do something nice for you and surprise you. Even though theyre sticky toffee, theyre still sweet candy. Love them or hate them, but you cant survive without them. Each squad member is different, but you accept them just like they accept you. Each one hold holds a special place in your heart and you will always be there for them, and they will always have you back and stick by your side. They can be hard to deal with sometimes, but theyre your friends. The group wouldnt be the same if even one was missing. Youre not sure how all of you ended up together, but youre glad you did. Its your gang, with sisters you never knew you wanted and girls you would die for.

My aunt LaTania has always been here for me since the day I was born, she treats me as if I was her daughter. When she did have her child, everywhere they went, I was right along with them. People always compare her daughter and me, they say that we were switched I act like my aunt and her daughter is just like my mom. We all also look alike so when you see all of us you can tell we are related.. We used to have so much fun. We didn’t need friends because we were very close to each other. When I told my family I was pregnant, it seemed like the only person who was there for me in my family was my aunt. She would tell me everything would work out an d they were just shocked and they would get over it. Aunt Toni would make sure I was okay and if I wanted to talk about something we would hop in her truck and just drive and talk about life or whatever was on my mind. I appreciate her for just always aking sure that I was all right. Throughout all her shine, she has had quite a downfall of events also. She thought she had found the man of her dreams, he was the father of her child and the only man she had been with for 18 years. They got married in August 1997 but it didn’t last long, they finalized their divorce in early 2009. When they were together around family it was all good but when I would stay over night at their house it was a different story. Always arguing, no positive energy, he gave up on their relationship and she was tired of feeling like she was the one bringing it down. Therefore it was not a healthy way to live and ultimately it had to come to divorce. Now she is very happy with someone new and it shows in her attitude and body language. Britain wanted to preserve the peace and to provide the â€Å"needed foodstuffs. † The French kept stable relations for trading purposes. Lastly, a major imperial goal of both the British and Spanish was to find the sources of gold and silver in America. Each searched for gold and silver in different places because each country knew that it could make their home lands wealthy. All countries were successful in acquiring land through their imperial goals and determination, even with their similarities in imperial goals. Although all the countries had some similar imperial goals, they also had their differences. The different countries wanted different areas of land. They Spanish were took the southwest, which included parts of Texas, Mexico and New Mexico. The French claimed northern America, areas in Canada, and also the island of Haiti. The English wandered up the northeastern coast and claimed the area of New England. Also, all three nations traded and made profits off of different goods. The French made a profit off of the beaver, which was extremely valuable. The English traded tobacco and rice with the Old World. The Spanish, while conquering the southwest portion of America, was out converting people to Catholicism. People such as the Spanish Conquistadores had motives to convert pagans to Christianity to ensure God’s favor. England, on the other hand, had a freshly acquired sense of nationalism after the defeat of the Spanish Armada. They used this vibrant sense of nationalism as an imperial goal, along with their strong thirst for adventure, a new spirit of self-confidence, bright patriotism, and their faith that England would succeed. On the contrary, France was more about the quantity of land rather than the amount of control they had over the land. They acquired French Haiti, a majority of the Midwest, and a large portion of Canada. Though different motives were kept on mind, all three countries ventured overseas in the hopes of acquiring land in New World, which they were able to do. Britain, France, and Spain all wanted a part of America. In order to get there they needed goals and motives, which they all had, whether similar or different. All three countries had monarchs to push their countries imperially and they all wished to establish overseas trade. Britain and France set out for the New World in the hopes of religious toleration and they also sought to preserve and create friendly relations with the natives. Spain and Britain were out for gold and silver, which they knew would increase the wealth of their country. All three countries also had their differences, such as the different areas of land that the countries conquered, the different trading that they established, the fact that the Spanish were out to convert people, the fact that Britain wanted to spread their sense of nationalism and the fact that France cared more about quantity rather than control. The migration from the Old World to the new was reflected later in history. Also, the fact that the countries sent out explorers is seen in history when Lewis and Clark were sent to explore the Louisiana Purchase in 1804 by Thomas Jefferson. In 1830, the Indian Removal Act was passed to remove the Indians from their land. The colonists, in the years leading up to 1830 and afterwards, were extremely prejudice against the Native Americans. The Indian Removal Act was merely a succession of their prejudice attitudes. Following the Indian Removal Act was the Trail of Tears, where the Indians had to march on foot off of their land. Many Indians died on the way to â€Å"Indian territory. † This was also a further continuation of the prejudice attitude. Approximately ten years later, people had a desire for the West. Better known as Manifest Destiny, explorers traveled the distance to search for gold. They had imperial goals just as Britain, France, and Spain did. Lastly, the Underground Railroad of the 1850s was where slaves were mistreated so they escaped the prejudice feelings of their masters. The feelings gave slaves a desire to escape their masters, which is what they did with the help of the Underground Railroad. Overall, Britain, France, and Spain, all competed for land between the years of 1580 and 1763 with similar and different imperial goals in mind, which can be connected to later historical events.

Researches have been conducted on the code switching behavior of the bilingual children. Bauer Montero, (20010; Fantini, (1985); McClure, (1977); Saunders,( 1982) have studied the behavior of such children and their findings reveal that the cognitive requirements of the task and the contextual demands like participants and topics influence the bilingual children to switch languages (Ruan, 2003). Sociolinguistic studies reveal that although code switching performs important communicative functions, most educators are unaware about its nature and functions in educational settings. Code switching has long been thought to be stigmatized in education (Crowl and MacGinitie, 1974; Lara, 1989; Ramirez Milk; 1986). Code switching has been identified as a deficiency of the bi linguals who are not well developed in either language that they use (Myers-Scotton:1993) Not much emphasis has been placed on the simultaneous development of the two languages in bilingual children by the educationists. Her sense of the status of interlocutors led to her motivation to switch† (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"While referring to the subjects taught in the Chinese scho ol, Lingling was more likely to use Chinese than English† (Ruan, 2003). She switched from English to Chinese when she talked to her friend about her WU Shu class (Chinese Martial Art ) (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"Lingling: I need to go to wu shu ke. (I need to go to Wu Shu class). Di: Yeah, punching and kicking people.† (Ruan, 2003). To Lingling, Wu Shu was a Chinese topic, and it was unlikely and inconvenient for her to translate it into its corresponding English term (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"When she talked to her classmate Kai about the most popular toys her awareness of culture-related topics was also obvious. At the time of the study many conversations were about Pokemons. In the following conversation her awareness of culture-specific topics is evident† (Ruan, 2003). The conversation started out in Chinese, but Pokemon characters prompted the switch to English (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"Meilun: Lingling, ni hua shen me? (Lingling, what are you drawing?) Lingling: Zhe shi Pich achoo (This is Pichachoo). I will draw Charizard the Flame Thrower too.† (Ruan, 2003). Moreover, code switching was frequently used as a metalinguistic device by the Chinese teacher and the children to expand and monitor teaching and learning (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"The new and complex concepts were often explained in both the languages by the teacher to ensure that the students had understood the concepts† (Ruan, 2003). The children in turn followed the same behavior (Ruan, 2003). Lingling’s verbal exchange with her teacher during a lesson on garden facilitates this finding (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"Teacher: Lingling, shen me shi hua yuan? (Lingling, what is hua yuan?) Lingling: Hua yuan jiu shi you hen duo hua, shi garden. (Hua yuan has lots of flowers, is garden.)† (Ruan, 2003). â€Å"This study suggests that as with bilingual adults, code switching is employed as communicative devices by bilingual children. Young bilingual Chinese/English children applied code- switching during their speech in order to realize different functions, such as social function, pragmatic function, and meta-linguistic function† (Ruan, 2003). The findings suggest that code switching should not be considered a sign of bilingual children’s English language learning abilities. â€Å"They should not be discriminated if they engage in code switching behaviors† (Ruan, 2003). The children can improve their literacy through using their own linguistic â€Å"funds of knowledge† (Moll, 1992) (Ruan, 2003). There is a need for more studies on code switching. It will enable the educators to acquire a better understanding of how bilingual children use languages and learn through languages (Ruan, 2003). These kinds of studies can help teachers provide appropriate instructional support to maximize bilingual children’s learning (Ruan, 2003). As a lot of commentators are arguing there would soon be a problem of ‘oversupply’ since the number of people available and looking for employment and are backed with degrees are most and are even exceeding the present number of work vacancies available. The other problem faced would be the loads of people who have attained degrees can neither get their graduate jobs or are get payment lower than they are entitled to. The graduates also may earn less than those that stopped their education at the A levels or even earlier. A recent survey in t he U.K has shown that many of the employers have increased their demand of skilled workers rather than the graduates. It has been projected that skilled employees have more efficient and impressive work than the graduates themselves who are backed with certificates and credentials, but do not have enough skills needed for the work itself. In the government reviews recently, in 2006, the number of skilled workers has substantially increased from one out of five in the year 1984 to at least 27 % in the year 2004 and is still showing an increase to date as projected (Vignoles, 2008). The trend reassures and shows that there is room in the job market available to accommodate more and more skilled workers and graduates even with the increase in numbers. Considering the world, we are heading in even economists project that there would be a higher demand for skilled workers rather than the graduates themselves in the future. In addition, the need for the skilled workers is also taking a to ll in the higher increase. This can act as a re-assurance for the people considering joining higher-level education or not. Surveys, however, tend to give graduates a bad vibe. The works say that graduates have in the recent past seen a decrease in their relative earnings. Comparing a graduate and a person that stopped their education at their A levels, but has enough skills; the latter earns a slightly higher earnings of about 30% more than the former. Where we might be reaching, degrees may be losing their value. Other evidences support such worries that around one third of graduates fail to get a graduate level-job. However, not all graduates struggle to find jobs. Some degrees are able to achieve much higher wage premiums than others. There is a huge and large variation of earnings of graduates with people. The biggest challenge for me will be to provide right information to Abhijit Barthakur (CIO), Jagdish Patil (CTO), Abdul Ahmed E Yakub (CNO), Nafiu Abdulrahman (CKO), Auwal Mohammad (COO) who are the board members of Brainz Inc Company.
